Egg Drop Challege

For the egg drop challenge, where we had to drop an egg as slow or fast as possible without it breaking, my group decided to cushion the egg in cotton and at first we wanted to place it in a box but later switched to just a cup for aesthetics and a lighter weight and less bulkier body for better aerodynamics. We also put baby power in the parachute so it oped better.

Prep: We sketched it out on a a whiter board and discussed ideas & goals. We then began making it and we accurately matched the weight of an actual egg during our testing by filling an easter egg with marbles and getting it to the average egg weight using a scale.

Materials:
 Box (then didnt)
Cotton
String
Tape
Egg
Plastic Bags
Cups

Achievements:
  • Sketch One possible solution
  • Sketch Second possible solution
  • Sketch Third possible solution
  • Use Decision Matrix to justify which solution to use

What feature would be used to create a 3-D representation of a spindle that was created on a wood lathe? The cylinder function. 3. How does a 3-D CAD solid model program keep track of the changes that are made to an object? By saving it to a temporary database. 4. If a mistake is made, how does the user make a correction without using the undo function? By deleting the area of the mistake and redoing that area.
